We have seen several modes of celebration in sports and celebrating in different ways is common in cricket. While the custom of celebrating a win in cricket started in the early days, it had become a regular aspect of the game in the last few decades as well. And, in recent times, players come up with different ways of celebrating their success – be it batting, bowling, or fielding. However, in recent times, the ‘Pushpa celebration’ made headlines. Be it men’s cricketers or women, all are effortlessly doing it on the field. While the players like Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, and Obed McCoy did during the Indian Premier League 2022, Nepal cricketer Sita Rana Magar stole the limelight with this in the ACC Women’s T20 Championship 2022.
The ACC Women’s Championship 2022 has witnessed a few stunning shows from the players and the first semi-final is taking place between Nepal and the United Arab Emirates at Kinrara Academy Oval in Kuala Lumpur. During the game, The Nepal all-rounder Sita Rana Magar enacted the ‘Pushpa’ style celebration after dismissing Kavisha Egodage.

As far as the first semi-final is concerned, Nepal has done exceptionally well. They restricted the opponent to a below-par total of 81 runs. And, courtesy should go to the bowlers, especially Ashmina Karmacharya, who picked up her maiden fifer. Apart from her, Indu Barma bowled brilliantly in the middle overs, taking 3/16 in her four overs as well.

However, this is not the first time that she celebrated this way. Sita Rana Magar made headlines with her celebrations after taking a wicket in the Fairbreak Invitational T20 tournament in Dubai during the match between Tornadoes Women and Sapphires Women on May 5. Notably, this act has been taken from the popular movie ‘Pushpa: The rise’.
