Team India squad announced for the upcoming five-match tour of Bangladesh. Star WPL 2024 players Asha Sobhana and Sajana Sajeevan have earned their maiden T20I call-ups in the 16-member squad. However, star India player Jemimah Rodrigues, who aggregated 235 runs for runners-up Delhi Capitals, has been dropped.
In the WPL 2024 in February-March, Asha claimed the second-highest number of wickets (12) and was the second-best for the champions, Royal Challengers Bangalore, behind Purple Cap winner Shreyanka Patil (13). Meanwhile, Sajana made her mark with a first-ball six to give Mumbai Indians an opening-night victory over the eventual finalists, Delhi Capitals.

Radha Yadav and D Hemalatha also returned to the squad. Radha had not played since India’s semi-final loss in the 2022 T20 World Cup in South Africa, but the Railways hitter last played for India in the 2022 Asia Cup final in Bangladesh.
However, both Minnu Mani and Mannat Kashyap failed to get the chance to be in the squad. They played in the team’s final Twenty20 International match of the season, which took place at home against Australia.

India will play five Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) in Bangladesh in September and October in anticipation of the country hosting the T20 World Cup. The first game of the series is scheduled for April 28 and the last one for May 9. Except for the third and fourth Twenty20 International matches, every game will take place at night.
