WBBL 2023: [WATCH] You Miss I Hit – Charli Knott Bowls A Stunner To Dismiss Sophia Dunkley In BH-W vs MS-W Match

In the match between Brisbane Heat vs Melbourne Stars in the Women’s Big Bash League 2023 (WBBL 2023), Heat’s Charli Knott made headlines after she bowled a stunner to get rid of Sophia Dunkley.

On the fourth ball of the first over of Melbourne Stars’ innings, Knott bowled an off-spin that turned and came inside, knocking Dunkley’s middle stump. The delivery stunned everyone as well as the batter and reminded them of the turns that legendary spinner Shane Warne used to produce.

As far as the game is concerned, batting first, Brisbane Heat posted 150/6 on the board after 20 overs. They had added 49 runs in the powerplay. The scoring tempo was subsequently stopped by Stars, who struck twice in the span of five deliveries. Mignon du Preez also encountered difficulty. With Heat labouring at 99/5, Alice Capsey created more issues by benching du Preez and Bess Heath for single-digit scores.

Heat’s momentum was destroyed, and Georgia Voll, who came out to bat after the sixth over, was watching the procession at one end. But in the slog overs, everything turned around dramatically as Charli Knott gave Heat the much-needed boost by hitting 31 off just 14 and Voll finished undefeated on 48 to lead Heat to 150.

Then, Charli Knott gave her team a fantastic start with the ball when she only needed to knock Sophie Dunkley for one. After Meg Lanning was dismissed for a laborious 16 balls, the Heat proceeded to run through the middle order, bringing their opponents down to 79/5. Only Capsey, who hit a vital half-century, was able to reach double digits out of the top six.

Before Kim Garth took over, the Stars were looking at a 98/7 loss following her dismissal. She tried to stay up with the asking rate with an unbeaten 45 but the Stars eventually found themselves with too much to do as they lost by 13 runs. With this win, Brisbane Heat managed to make it 4 in 4 as well.
