Brisbane Heat lost their first game against Sydney Sixers but bounced back to beat Melbourne Stars Women in their next game as well.
It was a nail-biting contest and the Heat kept their cool to finish on the winning side. Brisbane Heat put up a massive total of 179 on the board, on the back of Ellie Johnston (54), Georgia Voll (40*) and Georgia Redmayne (33). Captain Jess Jonassen picked up three wickets with the ball to restrict Melbourne Stars to 170 and win the game by nine runs as well.
On the other hand, Melbourne Renegades got off to a winning start at the WBBL 2022. They beat Adelaide Strikers in a nail-biting game to grab two points as well. Bowling first, Renegades captain Sophie Molineux finished with figures of 4/23 to help her side restrict the Strikers to 126/7. Molineux then top-scored with 32. The Renegades held their nerves to reach the finish line with one ball to spare.
