The Senior Women’s Inter Zonal One Day Trophy 2024 is all set to commence on 30th January in Vadodara and span to 9th February. With the conclusion of the Senior Women’s One Day Trophy 2024 on 26th January, the top-flight players from across each of the 37 domestic teams are being picked for the respective zones in the tournament.
A total of six zones (i.e.) Central Zone, North Zone, South Zone, East Zone, West Zone and North East Zone will square off against each other in the Senior Women’s Inter Zonal One Day Trophy 2024.
The inaugural edition of the Women’s Senior Inter Zonal One Day Trophy, held from February 12 to 21, 2023, marked a significant milestone in Indian women’s domestic cricket. This competition, featuring six zonal teams, followed the 2022–23 Women’s Senior Inter Zonal T20 and represented the first instance of women’s zonal teams competing since the 2017–18 Senior Women’s Cricket Inter Zonal Three Day Game.
North Zone emerged victorious in the tournament, showcasing their prowess by defeating Central Zone by 9 wickets in a thrilling final in the 2022-23 edition. The participating teams, representing different regions of India, engaged in a round-robin format where each team faced the others once. The top two teams from the group advanced to the final showdown.
Matches adhered to the traditional one-day format, with each side playing 50 overs. The competition not only added excitement to the domestic cricket calendar but also provided a platform for women cricketers to showcase their skills at the zonal level. North Zone’s triumph in the final underscored the competitive spirit and talent present in the Women’s Senior Inter Zonal One Day, setting the stage for future editions of this promising tournament.
