WPL 2024: [WATCH] Fan Faces Bizarre Incident During Gujarat Giants vs Mumbai Indians Match, Video Goes Viral

WPL 2024 started with a bang in Bengaluru on Friday, 23rd February. Fans already witnessed two back-to-back thrilling games which finished on the final ball of the match. However, the third game between Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians made headlines for the wrong reason.

A fan who went to watch the Gujarat Giants vs Mumbai Indians match of the ongoing WPL 2024 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru faced a bizarre incident. He alleged the volunteers at the stadium threatened him and asked him to remove the Mumbai Indians flag as it is a home match of Gujarat Giants. He has shared the post on social media and the video went viral.

The fan took to X (previously Twitter) and shared, “Here for the #WPL game between Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians and these volunteers are forcing to remove the Mumbai Indians Flag and Giving us threats.”

He further added, “They have literally snatched MI flags from across the stadium. I get its designated GG home game but that doesn’t mean you can’t support the other team! Having asked them to get the officials to talk to us , they never came back with them. I still have my Flag! Probably only 1.”

WPL 2024: Gujarat Giants vs Mumbai Indians match update

As far as the match is concerned, Mumbai Indians successfully restricted Gujarat Giant to a below-par score. While most of the batters got out on a single-digit score, only four could reach the double-digits.

Beth Mooney steadied the ship initially and scored 24. On the other hand, a late surge from Kathryn Bryce and Tanuja Kanwar helped them post 126 runs on the board in their allotted 20 overs.
