WPL 2024: UP Warriorz Players Sophie Ecclestone And Kiran Navgire Fined For Breaching Code Of Conduct.

WPL 2024: UP Warriorz’s star players, Sophie Ecclestone and Kiran Navgire have been fined 10% of their total match fees for a breach of WPL’s Code of Conduct. On 10th March 2024, Sunday, UP Warriorz played a nail-biting game against Delhi Capitals.

During the game, the two players were observed violating Article 2.2 of the Women’s Premier League’s 2024 (WPL 2024) Code of Conduct. According to the official press release, “Both Sophie Devine and Kiran Navgire admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 which relates to the abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during a match.”

According to the rules and regulations, for a level 1 offence, the decision given by the Match Referee is to be considered final and binding.

The Warriorz secured a 1-run victory against Delhi Capitals in this game.  Deepti Sharma’s remarkable performance in the game caught the eyes of all. She secured a half-century in the first innings and in the second innings, set a record by becoming the first Indian and the second-only player to have secured a hat trick in the league.
