WBBL 2023: Points Table

Women’s Big Bash League 2023 (WBBL 2023) is in its complete form as we head towards the third week of the series. Each team have been seen giving their best performances, trying to make it high on the points table.

As the second week has already come to an end, here’s a brief overview of the matches so far and how each team has performed to gain their deserving points.

Brisbane Heat have owned the table since the very first game. They have been playing a fantabulous game so far in the WBBL 2023 and have added 2 more points with their win against Hobart Hurricanes. Although they lost a game against Adelaide Strikers Women at the start of this week, they are at the top of the table with 10 points, winning 5 matches in all.

In the second position, we have Sydney Thunder. Sydney Thunder women played a total of 3 matches this week and have won 2 out of these. They won their game against Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades but lost one against Hobart Hurricanes Women. Sydney Thunder has still played the least number of games in the WBBL 2023. They are more expected out of the team.

Perth Scorchers have secured the third position in the WBBL 2023 points table. Playing 3 games so far against Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Renegades women, the team has secured 8 points in all. This week the team lost their game against Melbourne Stars not being able to secure the target in the required overs.

Adelaide Strikers are in the 4th position. The team has played 6 games so far, winning 4 and securing 8 points. This week Adelaide Strikers played 2 games and won both the games, against Brisbane Heats and Sydney Sixers.

Hobart Hurricanes played 3 matches this week. They have successfully won 2 and have added to the existing points. The team is in the 5th position with 6 points, winning their matches against Sydney Thunders and Melbourne Stars.

Sydney Sixers stand in the 6th position. The team has been able to secure 2 wins so far which is a little concerning. Last week they won a match, and this week winning one, they have collected a total of 4 points so far in the WBBL 2023.

Melbourne Stars played 2 games this week. They lost both games, one against Hobart Hurricanes and the other against Sydney Thunder. The team has been able to secure only 2 points so far.

Melbourne Renegades, the star team of WBBL, isn’t in their best form this season. The team has played 6 matches so far and unfortunately has won only 1. Renegades lost against Sydney Thunders, Perth Scorchers and other teams which has been a concern.

With this, the tussle for the qualifiers has already begun in the WBBL 2023. Each team wants to raise as high as possible on the table securing as many games as possible. Brisbane Heat have been on the top of the table for quite a while and will want to continue being in the position for as long as possible.
