India will tak on South Africa in the final of the T20I Tri-Series 2023 at Buffalo Park in East London on February 2. This is going to be the last competitive match that India and South Africa prior to the ICC T20 World Cup 2023.
Team India has been in fine form in the tournament thus far. They have remained unbeaten in the league stage, defeating West Indies twice and South Africa once. The best thing about the Women in Blue has been the fact that different players have stood up in different matches.

In the bowling department, Deepti Sharma has been sensational. In fact, she is the highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 8 wickets in 4 matches. Rajeshwari Gayakwad has also picked up 3 wickets in 4 matches.
South Africa lost their only match against India but made it to the finals after defeating West Indies twice. Nonkululeko Mlaba has been a handful with the new ball. She has taken 4 wickets in 4 matches at an impeccable average of just 9. The left-arm orthodox bowler has also been very economical as she has given away runs at just 3 per over. The experienced Masabata Klass is another bowler that India needs to keep an eye on.
Marizanne Kapp is South Africa’s highest run-scorer in the series so far with 74 runs in 2 innings. However, her services will be missed in the final as she has been given a “compassionate leave”. The Proteas will hope for a solid start from Laura Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits at the top of the order.
