Shafali Verma’s smashing boundaries take social media by Storm.
Shafali Verma made it to Twitter’s trending page 16th January 2023, after her splendid performance against South Africa.
At the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, Shafali Verma impressed her spectators and took the internet by storm. Her splendid 26 run over bowled by Nthabiseng Nini caught eyes of all cricket lovers from around the world.
The 18 year old, is shouldering the responsibility of leading the young Indian brigade at the World Cup. She is leading by example, smashing fantabulous boundaries and gaining the required runs for the team.
Her over against Nini has become a major highlight of the tournament so far. Shafali smashed 5 fours and went on for the ultimate big shot on the 6th delivery.
While India was chasing the target of 167 runs, Nini came in to bowl the 6th over of the game. With 44 runs on board, Shafali started smashing and brought the score closer to 70 runs by the end of the over.
Shafali smashed the first two deliveries to the off side. Lifted the bowl in the air for the third delivery, which resulted in a boundary on the long on. Shafali lifted the last delivery of the game for a maximum shot at the long on.
The youngster once again proved her strength and capacity at an international level. She scored a total of 78 runs in just 34 deliveries. This led the team to a convenient win over South Africa.
Her performance caught eyes of all and made it to the tweets. Official pages of ICC, BCCI Women, Wisden India, the Field and Female Cricket applauded the player’s contribution, commending her skills and power.
