India vs England: On Sunday, December 10, 2023, India under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur will take on England in the third fixture of the three-match T20I series at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The visitors have already won the series by winning the first two matches of the series. The women in Blue will look to make a stronger comeback in the third T20I.
India lost the second fixture of the three-match series by four wickets. India’s batting looked clueless and out of depth to be dismissed for their third-lowest total. The Indian side were bowled out for a small total of 80 runs with Jemimah Rodrigues getting the highest of 30 runs off 33 balls. The rest of the batters failed terribly and none of them were able to cross the 10-run mark in their individual score.
In defence too, India had a horror start. Later the Indian bowlers managed to pick a few wickets but it came very late as England was already in a good position. The home team now needs to emerge victorious in the final T20I to get safe from the clean-sweep at their home ground.
On the other hand, England had an excellent outing in both the T20Is. After the win in the first match, England have beaten India again in the second T20I to take a 2-0 lead in the series. Their bowlers did a fantastic job in the second game especially Sophie Ecclestone who bowled well to bowl out India for a very low score.
While chasing, England lost three wickets within the powerplay but they had a good powerplay as they smashed 49 runs in it. Alice Capsey and Nat Sciver-Brunt seized the momentum with their counter-attacking display to take England past the 50-run mark in seven overs.
However, with some middle-order collapse, England still managed to get a convincing win as they reached the target in the 12th over with four wickets in hand. The English team will aim to continue with their winning momentum and to get a positive finish to the series.
