India A vs England A: Before the senior teams face off in a three-match T20I series and one-off Test, India A is scheduled to host England A for a three-match Twenty20 series. The three games in the ‘A’ team series are scheduled to take place in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday, November 29.
The 16-strong Indian women’s national selection team has been selected for the series, with Minnu Mani, an all-rounder from Kerala, being named captain of the group. Mani has played in four Twenty20 Internationals and taken five wickets; her best performance (2/9) came in a July 2023 encounter against Bangladesh.
Uma Chetry, an Assamese keeper-batter who hasn’t played for her country yet, will serve as the series’ deputy captain.
The team also includes all-rounder Shreyanka Patil of Karnataka, who made history by being the first player from India to compete in the just-finished WCPL. In the WPL 2023, she played for Royal Challengers Bangalore, taking six wickets and amassing 62 runs in seven games.
However, following a training camp in Omam, the England selectors have chosen a 14-person roster for the series.
