The Senior Women’s Inter Zonal T20 Tournament 2023-24 is all set to commence from 24th November 2023 in Lucknow. With the domestic season having started in full flow with the just concluded Senior Women’s T20 Trophy, the top-flight players from across each of the 37 domestic teams are being picked for the respective zones in the tournament.
A total of six zones (i.e.) Central Zone, North Zone, South Zone, East Zone, West Zone and North East Zone will square off against each other in the Senior Women’s Inter Zonal T20 Tournament 2023-24. The competition commenced in February 2015 under the title of the Senior Women’s Cricket Inter Zonal Two-Day Game. The tournament featured five zonal teams playing two-day matches. Subsequently, in the seasons of 2015-16, 2016-17, and 2017-18, the format evolved to three-day matches while maintaining the original structure of each team facing others once.
While the tradition of teams playing against each other persists, there has been a modification in determining the champions. In the previous format of the tournament, the team leading the points table was automatically declared the winner. However, in the current arrangement, the table toppers will engage in a decisive game to determine the ultimate champion.
