The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers 2024 is all set to get underway in Abu Dhabi from 25th April serving as a pivotal event for teams aiming to qualify for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. This tournament is now in its sixth edition.
Ten teams are competing, split into two groups of five. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, where they will vie for a place in the final and the opportunity to secure a spot in the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.
The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers 2024 structure comprises two groups, each featuring five teams. Every team will face off against the others in their group once, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals. The first-placed team from one group will face the second-placed team from the other in the semi-finals, leading to the ultimate showdown in the final on May 7.
All matches will unfold in Abu Dhabi, primarily at the Tolerance Oval and the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium. These venues will host both day and night matches, amounting to four matches per day. The semi-finals are scheduled for May 5, followed by the final on May 7, both held at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.
ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers 2024: Groups
Despite their participation in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 in South Africa– Sri Lanka and Ireland found themselves without direct entry into the subsequent edition. Sri Lanka, although finishing ahead of Bangladesh in their group, missed out due to Bangladesh’s status as the host nation. Meanwhile, Ireland’s last-place finish in their group dashed their hopes for direct qualification for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers 2024.
The remaining eight teams earned their places through the ICC regional qualifiers. Thailand and UAE secured spots in the Asia Qualifiers, while Uganda and Zimbabwe emerged victorious in the Africa Qualifiers. In the Europe Qualifiers, Netherlands and Scotland claimed their positions, and in the western region, USA and Vanuatu clinched the solitary spot available in the Americas and the East Asia-Pacific region, respectively.
Group A comprises Sri Lanka, Thailand, Scotland, Uganda, and the USA.
Group B features Zimbabwe, Ireland, Vanuatu, Netherlands, and UAE.

ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers 2024: Schedule

Following this phase, the top two teams from each group will proceed to the semi-finals. The victors of these semi-final matches will then secure qualification for the main event.
