The 1st Semi-final of the ICC U19 T20 World Cup 2023 will take place at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom on January 27 between India and New Zealand. India is at the top of Group D by defeating Scotland, UAE, and South Africa. They were bowled out for 87 by Australia in the Super Six round but recovered with a resounding victory over Sri Lanka to guarantee their place in the semifinals.
With the bat, Sehrawat has been an absolute star for India. She ranks second in terms of runs scored and has gone unbeaten in three of her five innings, one of which she played despite batting down at number six rather than the opening lineup. Archana Devi is also a player to watch out for. In her latest match against Australia, the clever right-arm spinner of India was one of her team’s three wicket-takers. She bowled a few overs, collecting 7/1.
To finish first in Group C, New Zealand easily defeated Indonesia, Ireland, and the West Indies in each game. They defeated Pakistan in the Super Sixes after surviving a scare against Rwanda. They came in second in Super Six Group 2 after England due to having a lower net run rate. Georgia Plimmer and Emma Mcleod are the star performers of the team.
She opened the batting against West Indies and struck an unbeaten 41 off 22 balls. Against Pakistan, she scored a half-century at one drop. Emma Mcleod, in their most recent encounter, the right-handed opening batter won the Player of the Match. She struck 59 off 39, with two sixes and nine boundaries.
