WPL 2024: Ellyse Perry Gifted Broken Car Window By TATA After RCB’s Thrilling Win Over MI In The Eliminator

Royal Challengers Bangalore star player Ellyse Perry received a special gift from TATA Motors after she was awarded as the Player Of The Match for her heroics in the WPL 2024 eliminator against the Mumbai Indians on March 15.

Perry’s all-round performance helped RCB beat MI by five runs in the Eliminator. The Australian all-rounder got a special gift from the car manufacturers as they gifted her the broken window of the vehicle she had damaged during a league match.

Perry smashed a huge six during the match against UP Warriorz in Bengaluru and the ball went right through the window of the car which was parked near the boundary. Perry’s reaction was priceless, and she even joked about not having insurance to cover the damage she caused.

TATA made the wonderful gesture as they generously presented a gift to the all-rounder on Friday, as confirmed by RCB’s latest social media post.

Perry produced a remarkable rescue act for RCB during a match in Delhi on March 15. RCB were down 30 for 3 and appeared to be set for a low score in the crucial match. The Australian all-rounder continued her impressive performance with the bat, scoring a 50-ball 66, ensuring that RCB ended with 135 runs on the scoreboard.

With the ball, Perry got the wicket of the dangerous MI batter Yastika Bhatia and conceded just 29 runs in her four overs spell as RCB set up the final clash with Delhi Capitals on March 17.

Perry expressed satisfaction with RCB’s performance in the match and felt that her recent matches have been successful for her.

“We are ecstatic to get an opportunity to be in the final. To defend a low total like that is awesome. The girls kept calm and pretty awesome performance from the spinners at the end. You gotta take the opportunity when it comes. Nice for me the last couple of games, it has fallen my way. The way we stayed calm against such a good side is exceptional,” said Perry.

Perry is currently the highest run-scorer in WPL 2024 with 312 runs, four ahead of Delhi Capitals’ Meg Lanning.
