West Indies vs Ireland 2nd ODI will take place at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, in St Lucia on June 28. The West Indies team took a 1-0 lead in the three-match One Day International series by defeating the visitors with a margin of 58 runs.

Ireland started poorly by giving 13 runs in the opening over from there they couldn’t catch up in the whole innings. In the second innings, they were in the game until the 35th over when Gaby Lewis lost her wicket to the west Indian Skipper Hayley Mathews. In the second One Day, they will want to avoid making mistakes and win the game. 

On the other hand, West Indies had got the match in their control with a stunning 150 run stand for the second wicket between the skipper Hayley Mathews and Stafanie Taylor, with Hayley Matthews scoring a century and fifties scored by Chinelle Henry and Stafanie Taylor, the match looked balanced, but the windies pulled. In the second Innings, the match was looking balanced but the Windies managed to pull it back and won the game. They will surely try to continue their all-round performance. 

Ireland will try to bounce back and will be determined to register their first victory in this ICC Women’s Championship cycle, while the hosts West Indies will try to the West Indies vs Ireland series.

Gaby Lewis: Gaby Hollis Lewis the Irish All rounder comes from a cricketing background. She has been dependable for her team and scored some important runs in this edition of the women’s world championship. She was the highest run-getter for her team in the first ODI. Ireland was in the game until she was batting. She got out for 83 runs in which she scored 6 boundaries. Ireland will surely want their opening batter to score some more runs in the second ODI. 

Cara Murray: Ireland will look to their leg-spinner, Cara Murray, to make an impact with her wicket-taking ability in the middle overs. she possesses the skills and variations to trouble the opposition. With her ability to deceive batters and break crucial partnerships. She was the highest wicket-taker and took three important wickets for her team which included the dangerous stafanie, Taylor. Though she was a little costly she will look forward to taking more wickets in the second ODI. 

West Indies: 

Hayley Mathews: Hayley Matthews, the West Indian opening batter, is a formidable force in the team. Having made her debut for the Barbados Senior Women’s team at the young age of 12, Mathews brings a wealth of experience to the side. Not only is she the highest run-scorer for the West Indies Women’s team, but she also holds the distinction of being their highest wicket-taker.

She lead her team to victory by scoring a magnificent century in the first innings and then took three important wickets which includes Gaby Lewis and their captain Laura Delany when her team was looking in danger. She also made a direct hit to send their threatening opening batter Leah Paul to the pavilion. The Captain will surely want to seize the series and take the player of the series home. 

Chinelle Henry: Chinelle Henry, a right-handed middle-order batter who also bowls right-arm medium-fast, is another key player for the West Indies. While her economy rate may not be ideal, she has been effective in picking up crucial wickets for her team. She went all guns blazing at the Ireland bowlers scoring a quick fifty of just 36 balls with a strike rate of around 145 in the first ODI.

She continued the destruction of Ireland after their captain got out. Though she didn’t get much bowling this time. She will definitely look forward to contributing to her team in whatever way possible in the second ODI.
