The finals of The Hundred 2023 Competition have come to an end with the Eliminator taking place between Northern Superchargers and Welsh Fire at the Kennington Oval in London on August 26. The winner of this clash will play against the Southern Brave in the final on Sunday. The Northern Superchargers finished the league stages in the second position, after winning six matches out of eight. Welsh Fire, on the other hand, finished the league stages below the Superchargers as well where they won five games out of eight and finished with 11 points as well.
The Northern Superchargers and the Welsh Fire took on each other in their respective last league matches. The Superchargers chose to bat first and put up 144 on the board, thanks to contributions from Marie Kelly (69*) and Phoebe Litchfield (40) as well. The Fire Women claimed four wickets in total.
While chasing 145, Laura Harris scored a quickfire 37 but a lack of contributions from the others saw them finishing their innings on 128/8 to lose the game by 16 runs eventually. Kate Cross, Grace Ballinger and Alice Davidson Richards claimed two wickets apiece for the Superchargers. The Fire will try to do well in the Eliminator. The Superchargers Women will be high on confidence after their last win over the Welsh Fire in their last outing and will be looking to repeat their performance on Saturday as well.
