The final of The Hundred 2023 Competition will see the Southern Brave take on the Northern Superchargers at the Lord’s in London on Sunday, August 27. The Southern Brave qualified for the final after finishing the league stages at the top of the points table as well. They won seven games out of eight and finished with 14 points as well. They beat the Manchester Originals in their last league match to seal their spot in the final as well.
The bowlers did a great job of restricting the Originals to 118/4, with captain Anya Shrubsole finishing with two wickets. Danielle Wyatt (60) and Maia Bouchier (47*) then did well and contributed as they chased down the total in just 72 balls as well. The Northern Superchargers had to take the longer route to reach the final, as they faced Welsh Fire in the Eliminator. After being asked to bowl first, the Superchargers restricted the Fire to 104/2 at the end of 75 balls before rain stopped the game.
However, constant rain saw the game being called off. The Superchargers had finished the league stages in the second position and they qualified for the final ahead of Welsh Fire, who had finished third as well.
