The Women’s Selection Committee has announced the Team India squad for the upcoming T20I series and Test series against England and Australia. While they will play three T20I matches, two Test matches will take place between them.
However, the squad for the white-ball series against Australia will be announced later. While the speedster Renuka Singh has been named in both the T20I and Test squads, spinner Saika Ishaque earned her maiden national call-up in both the squads as well. She made headlines in the Women’s Premier League earlier this year alongside the domestic tournaments.
On the other hand, Shreyanka Patil, another impressive performer in the WPL, has also earned her maiden T20I call-up. She impressed in the WPL season with her stunning leg-breaks and unconventional batting ability down the order for Royal Challengers Bangalore. And, Saika played a key role in Mumbai Indians title-winning. Shreyanka also had a successful outing in the Women’s Caribbean Premier League.
However, Harmanpreet Kaur will be leading India for the first time in Test cricket in the one-off games against England and Australia as well.
