Harleen Deol: Redefining Women’s Cricket With Passion And Perseverance

Harleen Deol, born in Punjab and one of the trending cricketers in India came to the spotlight on July 10, 2021, as she leaped over the boundary rope and dived forward to take a sensational catch against England to show a majestic example of fielding, is an aggressive hitter who plays for Himachal Pradesh in domestic cricket.

Her father’s employment transfer was one reason for the change, and the amenities at the women’s academy were another. Her quick feet make her particularly effective against spin bowlers.

Harleen Deol has the ability to bowl a power game as well as a subtle touch against slower bowlers. While Harleen isn’t quite a finished product yet, she is a tweaker and a wrist spinner and has the talent to be a true all-rounder. Harleen made her international debut in 2019 across both of the white-ball forms after showing sufficient promise throughout her domestic circuit.

Given that the female section of the game in India was still in its infancy, Harleen used to play a lot of gully cricket with men when she was younger. While her neighbours did raise an eyebrow, Harleen’s parents, particularly her mother, were steadfast in their support.

Harleen Deol was originally an off-spinner but switched to leg-spinning out of necessity because the Punjab sub-junior side she was selected for lacked a leggie. Harleen is a passionate Shane Warne fan, just like the majority of wrist spinners.

She made an impression at the IPL 2019 exhibition game between female cricket players from around the world. Off the pitch, Harleen is a cheerful character who enjoys singing, especially rap.
