Hong Kong Women will take on Nepal Women in the Group A- 11th match of the ACC Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 on June 17. The match will be played at the Mission Road Ground, Mong Kok.
Hong Kong Women didn’t have an ideal start to their Asia Cup campaign. They suffered a horrible nine-wicket defeat against India Women in the opening fixture. They were bundled out for just 34 runs in 14 overs with India chasing it comfortably in 5.2 overs. Their previous fixture against Pakistan Women was washed out due to rain and they now need a big win in this game to stand a chance to qualify for the semis.
Meanwhile, Nepal Women are also exactly in the same situation as Hong Kong. They suffered a nine-run defeat against Pakistan Women in their opening fixture. They managed to bundle out Pakistan for just 87 runs courtesy of a 3-fer from Indu Barma and contributions from other bowlers. However, their batting failed to click as they were restricted to 78/6. Now, they are also in search of a win to have some chances of making it to the playoffs.
