PAK A vs WI A: Gull Feroza’s Fifty Helps Pakistan A Win Over West Indies A

PAK A vs WI A: The first one-day encounter of the three-match series between the two teams took place at the Ghani Glass Ground in Lahore between the West Indies A, captained by Rashada Williams, and the Pakistan A, headed by Rameen Shamim. The host team defeated the visiting team by a slim margin of eight runs by defending a meagre total of 174 runs.

After winning the toss, West Indies A chose to bat first against their home team. Pakistan A reached 174 thanks to right-handed batsman Gull Feroza’s half-century (62, 101b, 4x4s) before she was removed in 49.3 overs. Young opening batsman Shawaal Zulfiqar, who struck 17 off 40 balls and hit two boundaries, was the second-best batter of the innings in the PAK A vs WI A match.

Arm-right pacer Zaida James, a left-arm orthodox spinner, claimed two wickets, while Cherry-Ann Fraser returned with three wickets.

West Indies A fell nine runs short of the mark when they were bowled for 166 in 45.2 overs in response. For the touring team, right-handed hitter Shabika Gajnabi scored the most runs (29, 44b, 3x4s). Rashada Williams, the captain, was right behind Shabika, who scored 27 from 39 balls, including two fours in the PAK A vs WI A match.

The spin assault spearheaded by Rameen made sure that West Indies Women A never felt comfortable in the chase, despite the low total. The side was bowled out in the 46th over as a result of the visitors being unable to reach the target thanks to two wickets apiece from Saima Malik, Anosha Nasir, and the captain herself.

On October 26, at Ghani Glass Ground in Lahore, Pakistan A and West Indies A will play their second one-day match.
