WPL 2024: The performance of Shabnam Shakil against the UP Warriorz was nothing short of spectacular, leaving spectators and opponents alike in awe. She displayed her prowess by dismantling the UP Warriorz batting lineup, claiming the crucial wickets of Alyssa Healy, Chamari Athapththu, and Shweta Sehrawat. Her early breakthrough, dismissing Nat Sciver-Brunt of the Mumbai Indians in just her second match, further underscored her talent.

Operating with a fierce pace ranging between 100-110 km/hr, Shabnam’s impeccable line and length posed a formidable challenge to even the most seasoned batters in women’s cricket. Her ability to consistently deliver dot balls added to the pressure on the opposition.

Notably, her performance earned her a well-deserved place in the record books, marking one of the most economical four-over spells in WPL history. Additionally, she etched her name as the youngest entrant on this prestigious list.

At just 16 years old, Shabnam MD is already making waves in the cricketing world with her fiery pace and unwavering dedication. Born in 2007 in Visakhapatnam, Shabnam’s cricketing journey commenced at the tender age of nine, under the watchful eye of her father, a former navy man and a passionate cricketer himself.

Initially drawn to batting, it was the allure of fast bowling that captured Shabnam’s heart. Inspired by the likes of Brett Lee and Jasprit Bumrah, she embarked on a journey of relentless training and determination. From the crack of dawn until late evening, Shabnam honed her skills, perfecting her craft under the guidance of coaches like P Nagaraju.
