WPL 2023: GG vs RCB, Match 6 – Live Streaming, Head To Head, Pitch Report, Weather, Playing XIs, Dream11 Prediction

The 6th Match of Women’s Premier League 2023 (WPL 2023) will see the bottom two teams Gujarat Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore, bid against each other in the tournament. Both teams have lost both of their games and are eager to taste victory.

Gujarat Giants are placed at the foot of the points table, having lost both of their matches. In their opening game, they suffered a humiliating defeat against Mumbai Indians by a massive margin of 143 runs. Making things worse, their skipper Beth Mooney also got injured with Sneh Rana stepping in as Stand-in captain. In their previous match against UP Warriorz, they managed to put 169/6 on the board courtesy of a 46-run knock from Harleen Deol and a late surge from Ashleigh Gardner and Dayalan Hemalatha.

They started well with the ball restricting UP to 20/3 with Kim Garth taking all the wickets. Gujarat were in the driver’s seat until the 17th over with UP requiring 53 runs in the last three overs. However, they failed to stop the carnage by Grace Harris and Sophie Ecclestone, who chased down the target in 19.5 overs. The Giants were shocked by that finish and will now hope to make a strong comeback and get their first win of the tournament.

On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore have underperformed based on the quality of players they have in their lineup. They too have lost both of their matches, with the first one coming against Delhi Capitals by 60 runs. In their previous game against Mumbai Indians, they put up 155/10 on the board. Multiple players got good starts, but none of them were successful in converting it into a big one. MI chased it down pretty easily with nine wickets left in 14.2 overs. RCB need to regroup and work on their mistakes in order to win against Gujarat Giants.

Venue: Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai

WPL 2023: Gujarat Giants vs Royal Challengers Bangalore, Match 6 – Key Players

Gujarat Giants:

Kim Garth: Kim Garth produced a brilliant performance in the previous game against UP Warriorz. She managed to grab an excellent five-wicket haul conceding 36 runs in her four overs. Although the performance went in vain, Gujarat will be banking on her to repeat the same in the next game and help them get over the line.

Ashleigh Gardner: Ashleigh Gardner is one of the best all-rounders in the game. She was the player of the tournament in the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2023 but hasn’t been able to replicate the same so far in WPL 2023. She has the ability to make her side win single-handedly, and GG will be hoping that she lights up the tournament with her incredible performance.

Royal Challengers Bangalore:

Heather Knight: Heather Knight is an experienced campaigner who is known for her power-hitting abilities with the bat and her decisive off-spin bowling. She has performed decently so far in the tournament but needs to buckle up in order to make her side get to their first victory of the season.

Ellyse Perry: Ellyse Perry got nice starts in both matches but failed to capitalize on that. RCB have high hopes for her, considering she is one of the greatest women cricketers to play the sport. Her lethal all-round abilities make her a player to watch out for in this game against Gujarat Giants.

WPL 2023: Gujarat Giants vs Royal Challengers Bangalore, Match 6 – Pitch Report and Weather Forecast

The Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai is known to be a high-scoring ground, with a relatively flat and even surface. The pitch tends to be good for batting, providing a true bounce and good carry, which makes stroke-making easier. The ball can come on to the bat nicely, allowing the batsmen to play their shots with confidence. The spinners may also come into play later on in the game, as the pitch tends to dry out and offer turn.

The weather conditions in Mumbai can be quite hot and humid, particularly during the summer months. The temperature can reach highs of around 35°C, while the humidity levels can make it feel even hotter.
