WBBL08: The Adelaide Strikers have successfully acquired the service of another local talent, Annie O’Neil as the young gun will play for the Adelaide Strikers. A dependable middle-order bat is all set to remain in Adelaide for the next two seasons as well. While making her T20 debut in WBBL|05, O’Neil has continued to do well at the state level.
While playing every game for South Australia last summer, the 23-year-old gave several key performances with the bat. She made headlines with a knock of 48 from 37 balls – including seven boundaries and a six – to take the Scorpions to a win against Western Australia. Scoring 249 runs last summer, O’Neil remains one of the most consistent performers for her side.
However, Annie O’Neil is excited for the upcoming fixtures ahead: “Having grown up in South Australia, I am so proud to represent the Strikers and am thrilled at the opportunity to sign this new deal. This is a special group that I am extremely happy to be a part of and I am looking forward to getting out there and seeing what we can achieve.”
