Squad announced for the upcoming Quadrangular T20 Series on Friday (January 10) where Devika Vaidya and Sneh Rana have been appointed as the captains of lead India A and India B, respectively. The tournament will feature Bangladesh and Thailand as well and take place in Patna from January 16 to January 22.
Devika Vaidya-led side will get the service of India internationals, including Priya Punia, R Kalpana and Bharti Fulmali with the young talents like Richa Ghosh and Sushri Dibyadarshini. Both of whom were part of the recently concluded Senior T20 Challenger Trophy.
Punia was the highest run-getter for India A, who did not make it to the finals, in the Challenger Trophy. She also hit a 44-ball 60 against India C although came for a losing cause. Richa Ghosh, who did pretty well for India B, has been named in the India A side for the Quadrangular series and so does Sushri Dibyadarshini, who finished with seven wickets – the second-highest in the series as well.
On the other hand, India B which will be led by Sneh Rana will see opener Yastika Bhatia and wicketkeeper-batter Nuzhat Parween in the team. Tanushree Sarkar, who was a part of the tournament-winning India C, and Tanuja Kanwer, are also feature in the India B. On the opening day of the Quadrangular series, India A will play against Bangladesh while India B will take on Thailand.
