India To Have A Packed Schedule In 2023 With The T20 World Cup And The Inaugural Women’s IPL

There’s a lot to look forward to in 2023 if you are a fan of Indian women’s cricket. The schedule includes the T20 World Cup & Women’s IPL. The Women in Blue will begin the new season with a mouth-watering tri-series involving West Indies and hosts South Africa. The series gets underway on January 19th. Team India takes on South Africa in the Buffalo Park stadium in East London.

All teams will play each other on a couple of occasions in the tri-series. The top two teams will play the final on February 2nd. The tri-series will serve as the final preparation for the teams as they will then begin their journeys in the T20 World Cup.

Team India’s first match in the World Cup is on February 10th. They take on arch-rivals Pakistan in Cape Town in a Group 2 clash. The side led by Harmanpreet Kaur will take on West Indies in its second match in the group on February 15th. The remaining two teams in the group, England and Ireland, will meet India on the 18th and 20th of February, respectively. The top two teams in Groups 1 and 2 will go on to play in the semifinals. The champion will be crowned on February 26th.

Women’s IPL and the series to follow

The much-awaited Women’s IPL is likely to begin in March and will be a 5-team tournament.

After the WIPL, the Indian women’s cricket team will reunite in June for a series in Bangladesh. There will be three ODIs and as many T20Is. The T20Is will conclude in July. After their Bangladesh tour, Harmanpreet Kaur and her team will host South Africa for three ODIs and three T20Is. The excitement doesn’t end after this series as New Zealand will arrive in October to play three ODIs and three T20Is.

The final assignment for the Indian team in 2023 will be the home series against England. Three T20Is will be played. Red ball cricket fans will be delighted to know that the two teams will also play a solitary Test match. So there you have it. The Indian women’s team will be tested throughout the year. Expect them to be raring to go.
