United Arab Emirates will take on Scotland in the 2nd match of the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2023. Meanwhile, UAE’s 18-year-old skipper Theertha Satish has already played for the national team and appeared in 33 senior T20I games, scoring 823 runs which came at an average of 35.78 and a strike rate of 109.58. She was also the top-scorer for UAE in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 Qualifier and did well in the ACC Women’s T20 Championship last year which UAE won as well.
With heavyweights India and hosts South Africa in their group, UAE have a tough task in hand and will hope to start their tournament with a win against Scotland as well. It is noteworthy that UAE have eight players who have played in the senior team as well.
Scotland, meanwhile, are placed in a tough group, with matches against hosts South Africa and India can pose a threat to them. So, the tournament opener becomes a must-win game for Scotland, with the top three teams from the group progressing through to the Super Six stage of the event as well.
Meanwhile, players like Ailsa Lister, Olivia Bell and Katherine Fraser will create trouble for the opponents. Fraser has already played for the national team where she has appeared in 31 games and the youngster is expected to use all of her skills to guide her side to success in the tournament.
