Australia and ICC events go hand in hand and the Australia U19 team is no different. However, half of the squad already gained experience in the WBBL and domestic one-day competitions as well and they can expect to do well in the group including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the USA. Victoria all-rounder Ella Hayward made headlines in the domestic scene since making her elite debut in 2020, and so far played 30 WBBL matches for the Melbourne Renegades, having claimed 16 wickets in the competition. They will face stronger sides in the knockout stages and the games are likely to be thrilling ones as well.
On the other hand, Bangladesh will play against two strong opponents in Australia and Sri Lanka in their group as well. A 5-0 series victory over Malaysia will boost their confidence, but it came at home where the conditions are different from South Africa. The team, however, did well in the warm-up matches and could give a surprise or two as well. Moreover, captain Disha Biswas, a medium-pace all-rounder, is one of the four players in the squad who have been with the senior team as well alongside Biswas, Rabeya, Marufa Akter and Dilara Akter. And, their experience will help the team also.
