ICC U19 T20 World Cup 2023: The UAE named their squad for the upcoming marquee event as the team from the Middle East hopes to pull off a few upsets.
The inaugural edition of the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup is going to be held in South Africa in January. Cricket fans will be introduced to the stars of the future. The UAE named a 15-player squad for the tournament and 18-year-old wicket-keeper-batter, Theertha Satish will be leading the unit. The team is coached by former Hong Kong all-rounder Najeeb Amar.
After registering a six-wicket win against Thailand in the inaugural ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Asia qualifiers in June, 2022, the UAE booked their tickets to the U19 World Cup in South Africa.
They will be upbeat about their chances of pulling off upsets in the tournament that begins on January 14, 2023.
The UAE will begin their campaign in the World Cup against Scotland in Benoni on January 14. They have been placed in Group D alongside Scotland, hosts South Africa, and India. A win in the first match against Scotland will give them a huge boost going into difficult clashes against India and South Africa.
