ICC T20 World Cup 2020: Sri Lanka Look for Their First Win over Semi-finalist India

India have sealed their berth for the semi-final already. Their game against Sri Lanka might not be a crucial one in respect to points or run-rate but this is certainly going to be important for them to work on their middle-order woes. Shafali Verma and bowlers did all the job for India so far but their middle-order needs to step up especially their captain Harmanpreet Kaur who has been going through a rough patch.

The flamboyant opener of India, Smriti Mandhana needs to cash in as well in the top-order. So far they have batted first and defended the total. They also try to chase once in the tournament if they win the toss. In this process, their chasing skills will be tested as well.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka will bank on their in-form captain Chamari Athapaththu, who has been in formidable form with big scores in the last two games. The middle-order, though, has been a great issue for Sri Lanka while the bowlers have also not been as effective as they should be. Because of them, they cost a few games as well.

Although Udeshika Prabodhani and Shashikala Siriwardene did pretty well in their last few outings. But those were not enough to win the games. However, if India want to win the title they need to work on their batting loopholes as well and before the important semi-final, what could be better than the final group league stage against Sri Lanka?
