Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur will be fined 75 percent of her match fees and also handed four demerit points for her behaviour in the third ODI against India at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Saturday (July 22). However, a match official has confirmed the development to Cricbuzz on Sunday as well, adding that it was a level-two offence as well.
Notably, Harmanpreet Kaur smashed the stumps with her bat and she also had a heated exchange with umpire Tanvir Ahmed after she was given out leg-before. Later in the post-match presentation ceremony, she slammed at the umpiring in the game as well.
“For the on-field incident (smashing the wicket) she will be fined 50 percent of her match fee while for the way she represented herself her in the presentation ceremony, she will be fined 25 percent of her match fee,” the official told Cricbuzz.

After the match, Harmanpreet Kaur lashed out at the umpires saying: “A lot of learning from this game. Even apart from the cricket, the type of umpiring that was happening there, we were very surprised. The next time whenever we are coming to Bangladesh, we’ll have to make sure we have to deal with this kind of umpiring and accordingly, we’ll have to prepare ourselves.”
However, Harmanpreet Kaur will receive three demerit points for the on-field incident and another demerit point for her allegation against umpires at the post-match presentation ceremony as well. Meanwhile, the story did not end with this as she apparently made some remarks that saw the home team captain Nigar Sultana Joty leave with the team from the official photo session as well.
