CWG 2022: As the Indian women’s team is all set to play their Commonwealth game final against Australia, 1.4 billion Indians are rooting for their success, and so is the Indian Men’s Cricket team. While the Indian men’s team is in Miami, playing their series against the West Indies, they have sent wishes in the form of a video. Rooting for the women’s success against Australia and motivating them to go for Gold, they have shown immense trust and confidence in the side.
This is the first time ever that cricket was introduced in the Commonwealth Games as a sport, and India making it big was definitely a great sign for the Indian sports cadre. Wishing them luck, India Men’s current captain Rohit Sharma said, “A big, big congratulations to our Women’s team who has made it to the finals of the Commonwealth Games. It has been a great journey since the first game that you guys played and now to make it to the finals, really great efforts. For the entire men’s team, I would like to wish you all the best. Go out there, have fun and enjoy. Also, not to forget 1.4 billion people will be rooting for you.”
Giving them much strength and lauding their journey so far into the finals, India’s coach, Rahul Dravid too, sent wishes from Miami. “A big congratulations to all the girls of the Indian Women’s team”, he said. Really proud of you girls, fantastic performance and great efforts to reach the finals of the Commonwealth games. I know y’all won’t be satisfied, one more to go. We are rooting for you and wishing you all the very best.”

The Team’s journey has been rather impressive. After losing their very first game, they went off to winning and sealing all of them in their favour right from Pakistan, England to Barbados. The only threat they now pose are the Australians, against whom they lost their first game IT will be interesting to see whether history repeats itself, or revenge gushes and takes over the Indian blood at the finals.
World-class Indian seamer, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar too, added his wishes saying, “Wishing the Women’s team for reaching the finals at Commonwealth. The best part is that cricket was played for the first time at the commonwealth and we are at the finals!”
Spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin too congratulated and lauded the team’s performance. “The brand of cricket you’ve played, the way you’ve played, the spirit that you showed,” he said, “all has been wonderful to watch. We are all extremely proud and looking forward to watching the finals. Whatever happens, you girls have already achieved and given us a lot of moments to treasure.”
Dinesh Kartik, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer too joined the platoon, sending in more love, wishes and power to our women in blue. “From losing the first game and coming back and doing whatever you’ll have done, going right to the semifinals, very well done. It is an absolute team effort and I am sure you’ll put a lot of smile on people who’ll come to watch you all,” said Dinesh Kartik.
Hardik Pandya showed his love and support from the U.S., empowering them to ‘Go for Gold.’ While Iyer believes winning a Gold medal would be icing on the cake, the team is rooting for the girls to go all in.
There is indeed no waiting now, Women in Blue, Go for Gold in CWG 2022!
