CWC22: Team India Sets Sight On Must Win Encounter Against Proteas

India should win the match against South Africa to reach the semifinals. The Proteas will be at the best of their abilities to upset India given India’s wavering form in the tournament. For one team it is a fight for survival in the tournament while for other teams it’s their hunger to win their highest eve matches in world cups.

India has the last chance to come out of the shackles and give their full effort against a strong opponent like South Africa. India has to be at its best to be dominant against the Proteas. In the last time India faced South Africa, India were thrashed by a batting onslaught by Lizelle Lee. The top order has to give good starts so that the middle order can bat freely to finish the innings on a high. India has to rotate strikes even if they aren’t able to find boundaries. This is an area where they have to overcome this obstacle. Indian spinners have been consistent and gave India the much needed break-through match after match. This sets the tone for the entire team, the pacers are also important to bowl good lengths and maintain dot ball pressure. A complete team effort is required to beat the second team on the points

The Proteas have a strong bowling attack lead by its magnificent pace contingent and nicely aided by spinners. India has played well against pacers so far in this tournament, but this discipline of this squad leaves no room for mistakes in all departments. South Africa team has a good batting line-up as well; Laura Wolwaardt has been at the helm of affairs and among the most runs scored by South Africa in this season. But the other players in the middle order will have to step up if the top order fails. The complete dependency on its top-3 and their resistance would be exploited by other teams to initiate a slide. The middle-order will bring in the balance to arrest such a slide in the batting order. Bowling and fielding are the assets this team will bank on.

India’s must-win fixture will change the equations in the tournament if they going on to win. Proteas will look forward to crease the massive effect to end the league stage on a high.
