BAN vs IND: After having secured the first T20 game by 7 wickets, India has continued with their win streak against Bangladesh by winning the second game. They now dominate the T20 series against the host by 2-0 and have one more game left.
Bowlers, from both sides, indeed played a brilliant game. In the first inning, the Bangladeshi bowlers restricted India to a super low score, but in the second half, Indian bowlers picked quick wickets and restricted the opponents from chasing down the score. Good defensive technique and strategies by the Indian team.
The game at Sher-e-Bangla stadium began with India winning the toss and deciding to bat first. Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma opened bat for India. While the two tried their level best to secure some runs for the team, they weren’t quite successful with the bat in hand. The two played some 33 runs together before Mandhana could lose her wicket to Nahida Akter.
Soon after Shafali Verma lost her wicket to Sultana Khatun. The Bangladeshi bowling force was in all action today. They secured very quick wickets. The entire middle-order batting lineup which included the likes of Jemimah Rodrigues, Harmanpreet Kaur, Deepti Sharma, etc were lost too early.

India’s batting side wasn’t very impressive. With Amanjot Kaur’s contribution in the end the team was able to secure the score of 95 for a loss of 8 wickets in all. With consistently falling wickets and a lack of partnership, the team wasn’t able to set an impressive score in the BAN vs IND 2nd T20I.
Amazing bowling on the other hand, with Sultana Khatun picking three major wickets, namely that of Shafali Verma, Harmanpreet Kaur and Harleen Deol. Fahima Khatun picked two wickets and Marufa Akter, Nahida Akter and Rabeya Khatun picked a wicket each.
With this, Bangladesh needed a low score of 96 runs to secure in 20 overs. But the Indian bowlers too set their stance and decided to bowl as brilliantly as the opponents. Minnu Mani, Deepti Sharma and Shafali Verma picked all the necessary wickets in order to restrict the opponents from chasing down the score.
The entire lower-order batting lineup was destructed by the bowlers. Although it seemed tough to defend a low score, India played brilliantly well. It was indeed a close game, as Bangladesh lost by a small margin of 8 runs. Shafali Verma and Deepti Sharma picked 3 wickets each. As Deepti’s economy rate was less, she won the Player of the Match award.
With this India leads the series by winning 2 out of 3 games. Bangladesh will want to make a comeback in the last game and try to end the series on a winning note.
