Australia Win In A Canter Against Hapless Pakistan In The 2nd ODI And Seal Series

Meg Lanning’s return to international cricket has been a smooth one as she has managed to lead Australia to yet another series win. Pakistan once again faltered with the bat in hand. They got skittled out for just 125 after playing 43 overs. Neither could they up the scoring rate nor could they hold wickets in hand.

The speedster Darcie Brown bamboozled the Pakistani batters with her lightning-quick deliveries. She picked up 3/32 in the 8 overs she bowled. Annabel Sutherland and Alana King picked up two wickets apiece to round off a superb bowling display on the part of the Aussies.

Half-Centurian in the first match, Nida Dar top scored for Pakistan with 24 runs but her innings ended when she was runout by Kim Garth.

The Australian batters came out to bat with a clear mindset to attack. It seemed as if they were playing as if it was a warm-up match ahead of the T20 World Cup. They managed to chase the paltry score down in 19.2 overs without losing a wicket.

The impressive Phoebe Litchfield continued her good form from the first ODI and scored a fluent 61-ball 67. The experienced Beth Mooney also registered a fifty. She remained not out on 57 off 55 deliveries.

Nobody really stood out for Pakistan with the ball. The Aussies hit 15 boundaries in total with 10 coming off the bat of Litchfield.

Darcie Brown was fittingly adjudged the Player of the Match for her splendid spell of bowling. With the series already in the bag, Australia have the opportunity to rest a few of their regular players with the T20I series and most importantly the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup coming up.

Pakistan’s captain Bismah Maroof will have a lot of things to think about. Let’s see if they can produce a better effort in the final ODI.
