The 19th edition of the Asian Games 2023 is all set to begin on September 23 in Hangzhou, China with cricket which has returned to the Asian Games again. Men’s and Women’s cricket events featured in the 2010 and 2014 games but missed out in 2018. However, India never sent its team to the event as well.
Apart from India, teams from seven other nations will also take part and fight for the prestigious medals at the Asian Games 2023. The Zhejiang University of Technology Pingfeng Cricket Field will host all the T20I matches.
Asian Games 2023: Teams and Groups
The competition at the Asian Games 2023 will feature two groups:
Group A:
- Indonesia
- Mongolia
Group B:
- Hong Kong
- Malaysia
However, four teams have received direct entry into the quarter-finals of the Asian Games 2023, showcasing the high calibre of cricket talent in the region. These teams include cricket powerhouses such as India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
