Ahead Of Test In Bristol, Team India To Go For Quarantine In Southampton

Presently in the isolation in Mumbai, the Indian Cricket team is all set to counter the Amphitryon(s), England on June 16; but much before that Team India is scheduled to move into an additional tuff quarantine in Southampton, ahead of the first one-off Test match which has been meticulously programmed to be held in Bristol.

“The Indian women’s contingent is not moving to Bristol on landing. Instead, they will also be going to Southampton with the men’s team and start their room quarantine. With ECB yet to send us the routine that we need to follow, the women’s team will only leave for Bristol once the quarantine period in Southampton is over,” a senior BCCI official aware of movement subtleties told PTI on states of namelessness.

Although both the squads, India Men and Women, are waiting for a stir from the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to embark on the completion of the quarantine routine, the International Cricket Council (ICC) didn’t lay down the details regarding the duration of the “hard and soft” quarantine and the completion of it in the press release that was issued on Saturday.

The Hilton Hotel, a part of the Hampshire Bowl Stadium property, is primed and poised to serve as the at-ease state for both the Indian sides. The women’s squad will be moving in to isolate themselves in the Hilton Hotel which mounts contiguous to the County Ground in Bristol to guarantee a safe and sound bio-secure zone (also called a ‘bio-bubble’) as was termed during this year’s half-way-through Indian Premier League (IPL).

“We need to plan our training schedule and for that intimation about the duration of hard and soft quarantine period is very important. It is the ECB which will hand over a complete chart starting from day one of our managed isolation,” the official said.

When the Virat Kohli-led squad descends down on the ground to take on Kane Williamson’s Black Caps-army for the historic inaugural World Test Championship which is set to be in action from June 18 till June 22, the Indian Women’s team, ramp up and gear themselves tip-toed to face the heat of fortitude as the format demands, against the hosts, England.
