Former India captain MS Dhoni had announced his retirement through Instagram on Saturday. He shared a video with the caption, “Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout. from 1929 hrs consider me as Retired.” After his announcement, cricket fraternity paid their tribute and former Pakistan player Sana Mir is one of them.

“No words can do justice to the contribution by this Great Leader and one of the best finisher of the game. Thank you @msdhoni for your exemplary performance to uplift the status of the sport globally,” Sana Mir took to Twitter and shared this.

Not only Sana Mir but Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof, Javeria Khan and Kainat Imtiaz has also paid their tribute on Twitter. Even India ODI captain Mithali Raj and opener Smriti Mandhana too shared their views on Twitter recently.

Bismah Maroof added, “A true ambassador of the game ?? @msdhoni. Thank you for all the inspirations, lessons, leadership, sportsmanship and much much more. You’ll be missed and remembered forever. All the best for your second innings.”

Meanwhile, Javeria Khan shared, “Pal Do Pal Meri Kahani Hai. MS Dhoni, an incredible player and a calm Captain that shaped the entire Indian team. A keeper, who would stump in a flash of light, and a batter who would take the match to the end. God speed. #MSDhoni”

Kainat Imtiaz wrote, “A legendary cricketer, an incredible captain, the best finisher with the calmest mind on field. Sir hats off on such a career full of inspiration. Words can’t do justice for your contribution in the cricket world. @msdhoni. Thank you and congratulations.”

On Saturday, MS Dhoni had announced his retirement through an Instagram post. The video featured the song ‘Mai Pal Do Pal Ka Shayar Hu’ from the hit movie ‘Kabhie Kabhie’ where Dhoni shared his stunning journey in a collage since his debut to his final match against New Zealand in the 2019 ICC World Cup semifinal.

Notably, MS Dhoni is the first and the only captain to win all three ICC Trophies, including the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2011, ICC World T20 in 2007 in South Africa and the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013 in England.

He is undoubtedly the quickest man behind the stump. MS Dhoni has 195 international stumpings, the most by any wicket-keeper. He played 350 ODIs with the highest score of 183 against Sri Lanka. However, he will continue to lead Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The tournament will take place in the UAE from September 19 to November 10.
